Welcome

In our modern American culture, it seems like the "Christmas season" begins earlier and earler.  Perhaps merchants, eager to make their sales goals are largely responsible for this.  Traditionally, however, the Christmas season does not begin until Christmas Day.  The weeks leading up to Christmas Day comprise the season of Advent.  For those who are overwhelmed by the commercialism of the secular Christmas,.observing Advent can bring more spirituality and meaning in this time of year.  As a season of quiet penitence and expectant waiting, the observation of Advent also serves to make Christmas all the more joyous, by contrast.  This website is intended to help those who are interested to understand Advent and discover ways to observe this blessed season (especially those who are from a church tradition that does not follow the traditional liturgical calendar.)
